Hope you’re all having a wonderful spring and enjoying the gorgeous weather and wildflowers! The bluebonnets have been spectacular this year, so naturally I just had to paint them, along with Indian blankets, Indian paintbrushes, evening primroses, and more! I wanted to give you all a special invitation to come see my booth at the Texas State Porcelain Artists Convention in Abilene this year. It will be held April 19-21 at the MCM Elegante Hotel, 4250 Ridgemont Drive, Abilene. I will be having a booth in the Sales Room, with wildflowers galore. Also new this year, in honor of the theme for Convention “The Old West”, I have hand-made and painted porcelain cowboy boots and hats, some beaded into neclaces, and others just waiting for a chain or ribbon to adorn your neck. Texas longhorns, buffalos, as well as my normal lions, tigers, giraffes, zebras, and elephants will make an appearance also, even an ostrich with attitude! How cute they look when worn with your favorite safari-themed outfit!

The hours are 9-5 Thursday and Friday, April 19-20, and 9-noon on Saturday, April 21. Surely would love to see ya’ll there! YEEHAW!

I also wanted to let you know about the upcoming Wimberley Valley Art League Holiday Show and Sale on Nov. 12-14 at the Wimberley Community Center. This show will display some lovely works from all the WVAL members, and I’ll have some pieces on exhibit as well. One that I’m most excited about is a large vase with 3-dimensional sea horses, sea dragons, and jelly fish I made out of porcelain clay and attached to the vase, and then painted into a whimsical seascape, entitled “Under Wonders.” If it doesn’t sell at the show, I’ll try to get a picture up on the website and have it for sale there.

Well, guess that’s about all my news for now. Hope you’re all having a blessed autumn season and enjoying the cool, refreshing breezes. Autumn truly is my favorite time of the year with such gorgeous colors abounding in God’s glorious creations. May He continue to open all our eyes to see HIS BEAUTY!!

Blessings upon you all!

Hi, everyone!

Hope you’re all enjoying some beautiful fall weather. It has finally cooled down here from the searing 100 degrees of August! Yeah! I’m out in the garden alot right now, planting poppies, sweet peas, and larkspurs for blooming next spring, and providing inspiration for more wonderful days of painting!

I wanted to let you know about the current exhibit showing at the Wimberley Valley Art League Gallery. For the first time ever, I submitted a piece for the juried show, and it was accepted! It’s a large porcelain vase, with sea dragons and sea horses and other creatures that I made out of porcelain clay and affixed to the vase, then china painted a seascape around them. Sooooo, if you’re in the Wimberley area, please feel free to stop by the Exhibit. The opening reception will be Saturday, October 2 from 5-7 pm, and the Exhibit will run from Oct.2 – Nov.30. Here’s a link to the Exhibit, called Double Exposure, you can check out also. The Wimberley Valley Art League [www.info@wimberleyartleague.com]

Also coming up before too long is the Jingle Bell Show at Riverbend Church on Nov. 6 in Austin. Yes, I know, it’s hard to get in the Christmas shopping mood yet, when it’s still quite warm here, but Christmas really is on the way. Soooo, I would love for you to come visit me at this show, and see the new jewelry and other porcelain pieces I’ve painted. And yes, one of these days, I really will update my website with new pictures. ’Tis hard for me to be a business website person, when I’d much rather just be painting! But new pictures are on the way, hopefully!

Sooooo, till next time, enjoy this gorgeous time of year, and may God’s richest blessings be upon you all!

Rhonda
