Ladies---what were you thinking??? Seriously though, it was a rough day, and I took out my frustrations using a meat cleaver on clay! The resulting cabochon has really cool indentations, which retained different colors of tawny yellow and chartreuse lusters. Wirewrapped with gold spirals and beads, the necklace is then beaded with chalk turquoise, chrysocolla, and mother-of-pearl. 18" long

I painted an Apatasaurus and a Pteradactyl in a forest of primitive trees, then beaded the necklace with Kambaba Jasper and brown crazy lace agate to look like 2 flying pteradactyls. Wear a chunk of history around your neck! This amazing 2"x3" piece of Dominican Republic amber is between 15-40 MILLION YEARS OLD!!! I fell in love with this stone when I purchased it from a certified gemologist in San Antonio. When held up to the light, one can see numerous insect wings and bodies trapped in this lovely, luminescent amber piece.
